It's just a cough. Seriously.

Yeah right. I've got good news and bad news again. Since its my style, lets start with the bad news first.  Ellen is back in the hospital. Yes, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record (or MP3 for those of you who are too young to remember records). Elle has been getting a cough and is short of breath. The Doctor Posse thinks its the beginnings of bronchitis, which Ellen does actually get annually. This is not surprising to anyone. However, because Ellen is pregnant, she can't take the normal medicine and the DP (Doctor Posse) wants to be sure it isn't something else, thus they have decided to be conservative. Ellen is in the hospital to receive the *good* drugs and stay under observation for 24-48 hrs. And....that's all the bad news! Yep, that's it.

Now for the good news. Emma is growing! The sack around her has grown by another centimeter (3.5 cm) and her weight is up to 11 oz. Her heart no longer has any back fill when pumping (but still has fluid around it) and the dopplers on her brain and umbilical cord are normal again. Hooray! Things are looking great for her. Ella is still normal and has grown up to 1lb 6oz. Thus all the math shows we have done the right thing with the additional surgery and blood transfusion. Now if we could just find a way to help her mommy feel better.

Lastly, Ellen has threaten me. She said that if I didn't spend the next couple days in Pittsburgh away from all this craziness that she'd keep me from attending Sunday football games. Now, I thought about it. I mean its ONLY the Seahawks, its not like its the Steelers or anything. And then she told me that she actually meant that she'd keep me from watching the Steelers on Sundays. Oh crap. I guess I have to listen to her and take this vacation I've been planning. So against my better judgement, I'm leaving in the morning for Pittsburgh to attend the Steelers vs. Seahawks game at Heinz Field on Sunday.  Both of Ellen's parents will be filling in for me at the house and hospital while I'm gone. So unless anything major happens, the next couple posts should be from Pittsburgh, where I'm not allowed to think about the craziness going on here. (Yeah, right).
